2) Reflex Chiropractic - Andrew Green

Many years ago, a friend suggested that Andrew visit a chiropractor to help with some back problems, but he was uncertain about it. Fortunately, not only did Andrew find a great chiropractor, but he was so impressed with the treatment that he decided to become one himself! To stay in tip-top condition. Andrew still sees his own chiropractor on a regular basis.

In all his years of seeing patients, he has never known anyone tell him that they wish they had waited longer to start chiropractic care. Most often, their response to treatment is one of frustration. Why did noone tell me about this treatment? Or I wish I had tried this years ago.

Beginning treatment sooner rather than later not only allows you to get back on the road to recovery and good health more quickly, but it can also shortens the amount of treatment required and saves the patient both time and money. Back and neck problems are always much easier to remedy when they have not been around for years.

You do not need to suffer needlessly. Consult the Reading area chiropractor who uinderstands what it takes to resist the convenience of drugs and surgery in favour of natural methods.

Please do not delay it for any more time. Spinal problems rarely get better on their own. Start your journey towards better health today by consulting the Reading chiropractor who was once in the same position that you are now in.

3) 1st Chiropractic Clinic

1st Chiropractic Clinic in Reading was established in 2001 in Woodley and is now an established practice. A further clinic has recently been set up in Southampton to serve the needs of patients in that area.

1st Chiropractic Clinics aim to provide a very caring personal approach to patients and their needs. This is combined with a willingness to recognize a patient’s own commitments and responsibilities and to respond as flexibly as possible by providing appointments that are both convenient and timely.

1st Chiropractic Clinics offer services that are complimentary to those provided by GPs and the NHS, providing a very important form of healthcare not offered by other branches of medicine. GPs rarely have the time and expertise to treat biomechanical disorders themselves, and hospitals tend not to provide care in the form that is offered by a chiropractor.

Chiropractic treatment has now been recognized, nationally and internationally, as a significant and worthy addition to the wealth of other health care options, which has a real and immediate input to the lives of nearly every family.

There is no age limit to the treatment that can be offered, although treatment options vary according to age and other clinical issues. People of all ages, from the newborn to the most senior years as well as those in between can benefit from what chiropractic can offer.

1st Chiropractic Clinics offer a range of treatments and facilities that are based on expertise and experience of what is effective in reducing and preventing pain and in restoring as far as is possible normal biomechanical function. Treatment is not offered or charged for where there is no significant evidence that it will be of any value. The first duty of a competent and ethical chiropractor is to ensure that a presenting condition is in fact appropriate for chiropractic care and not something that should immediately be referred on elsewhere. It is important that a chiropractor is properly trained.

A wide range of conditions can be treated with chiropractic.

Call 1st Chiropractic Clinics and see just what might be done to help you. Many have told that it was one of the best decisions they have ever made. Both clinics are easily accessible and with good parking facilities.

Chiropractic Care for Babies and Children

Although chiropractic care is more usual among adult patients. Some parents are also considering having their children try this alternate treatment. In order to prevent unnecessary risks and dangers to youngsters – here are some details about the various techniques, as well as some precautionary measures to take into account.

On Subluxation

Spinal bone misalignments can occur in infants which hinders the regular flow of nerve energy called subluxations. Everyday activities among young children and infants can lead to subluxations. A lot of babies actually get subluxations before birth or during delivery.

Cesarean section can create irregular strains on the vulnerable body of the baby, due to use of forceps and other methods that induce delivery. Usually midwives and nurses hold the baby in an upside down position, putting the tiny spine in a degree of stress because of the stretched, twisted and tugged form. Subluxations can then occur.

Caring for Kids

Parents are encouraged to have their children visit the chiropractor at a very young age. The strain on your youngster’s spine will not end in the delivery room. Most children are naturally energetic, playful and active, so they participate in several physically demanding activities like jumping, running and falling.

On the exterior, the child’s body may only show bruises or small scratches. However, on the inside there may be more serious problems because of considerable force acted upon it. Small bones that form the spinal column, can be forced to assume an unnatural position, thereby reducing the natural protection provided to the system.

Effects on children

Subluxations among children can lead to different body problems such as disabilities, disease and other symptoms. Whenever nerve flow in the body is hindered, the brain will only get distorted messages, so the body cannot work as well. An optimum level of health cannot be achieved. Some of the signs that parents should watch out for to determine if their child needs to be checked by a chiropractor include hyperactivity, stomach pain, fever, bed wetting, sore throat, colds, flu and bad posture.

Treatment Measures

Spinal problems in babies and children can be treated by first having the chiropractor carry out a comprehensive evaluation of the spine.  Spinal treatment can be performed on infants and children, using light fingertip techniques to improve spinal structures and other various malfunctions.

The pressure involved rarely exceeds one pound. It is usually enough to restore spinal joint mobility. Some of the things to expect are popping sounds as joints are moved.

Chiropractic care on children and infants is not painful, although they may find the first few treatment sessions a little frightening. It is normal to see children cry during visits, due to feelings of apprehension.  Fortunately, children need fewer adjustments, compared to adults, since their spines are more flexible and supple and can be corrected easier.

The actual number of treatments will largely be dependant on the duration of the diagnosed condition. Children will need to be re-evaluated at regular intervals to check progress, and to ascertain if other treatment and therapies are required for full recovery.

What Type of Doctor Should You See for Neck and Back Pain?

When some people suffer from a nagging back problem, the first person they call is their family doctor. It is true that family doctors can treat a wide range of health problems including back and neck pain.
However, if you have a serious problem, your doctor will probably order diagnostic tests, refer you to a specialist, or just prescribe some medication.
Studies show that family doctors do not easily adapt their practices to new back paintreatments. It may be helpful to take a pro-active approach with your doctor when determining the best form of treatment, by researching first and asking pointed questions. Here are 5 other options you have for treating neck and back pain:Chiropractors:
Chiropractic treatment is a hands-on, alternative medicine discipline that views and treats health through the effect of spinal anatomy on the functioning of the body. Chiropractors consider their work a healing art and science which aims to remove interruptions to the flow of nerve transmission.Emergency Room Visits:
If your neck and back pain is a result of an accident such as a car accident then you should head straight to the emergency room. If left untreated, serious neck and back injuries could result in more serious permanent damage.
It is also time to go to the emergency room if you experience problems with bowel or bladder functions, or if your legs grow progressively weaker. These are the symptoms of cauda equine syndrome, one of the few life-threatening back problems.Rheumatologists:
A rheumatologist will treat arthritis and musculoskeletal problems, including back and neck problems such as spinal stenosis, and spinal arthritis. Rheumatologists also treat diseases that are related to back pain such as osteoporosis, fibromyalgia and other forms of back pain.Neurosurgeons:
A neurosurgeon specializes in diseases and conditions of the central nervous system, and the nerves that branch out from the spine. A neurosurgeon might perform surgery on the brain, the spinal cord or on the spine itself. While neurosurgeons do provide non-surgical management of back pain, you may be referred to one after exhausting all your conservative care options.
Osteopaths:
Osteopathy is a branch of medicine developed by Andrew Taylor Still. The D.O., or Osteopath, uses her or his hands to diagnose and treat illness based on imbalances present in the musculoskeletal system.
Here at Chiropractor Reading, we will help you discover what is causing discomfort in your back and recommend the best route of treatment.

Could Chiropractic Treatments Be Better For Your Wallet?

Recent studies have shown chiropractic treatment to be more cost-effective than regular medical treatment when it comes to chronic lower back pain.

Although both treatment types cost about the same, the chiropractic care resulted in better outcomes for patients. These better outcomes led to less future treatments, which resulted in less money spent overall. Not only were the treatments less in cost, but they also provided the best results to patients.

These outcomes were measured in terms of:
• pain relief
satisfaction with care
disability scores
One study was conducted on 2780 patients who made their own choice to see either a chiropractor or a medical doctor for their pain. The patients were studied both 3 months and 1 year after their first visit to their chosen doctor.
The medical doctor's patients were given a referral to physical therapy, as necessary (25% of patients).
The chiropractor’s patients were given:
spinal manipulation
physical therapy modalities
exercise
patient education.
The study found that although office visit costs were higher for chiropractic treatment, total costs of chiropractic care per patient were 16% lower than for medical care. It also revealed that acute care patients who sought out a chiropractor enjoyed healthier physical outcomes than acute care patients of medical doctors.
If you're wondering which way you should go, contact them at Chiropractors Reading to set up a free consultation. We will get help you get started down the right path.

Why Acute Low Back Pain Requires Early Treatment

If you're not careful, an acute back or neck injury could lead to a disability. Inflammation and subsequent potential scar tissue development can result in decreased flexibility (called range of motion), pain, muscle spasm and trigger points.

Anti-inflammatory pain medication and physical therapy can prevent acute back pain from turning into chronic back pain.
When left untreated, acute back pain can become a chronic condition that causes permanent changes in your nervous system. For instance, certain levels can leave you feeling excruciating pain even if you are only getting a simple pat on the back.

Early treatment can prevent permanent changes in the way your nervous system processes pain and other felt sensations.

Here at Chiropractor Reading, we will help you discover what is causing discomfort in your back and recommend the best route of treatment.

Is Sitting Too Much Hurting Your Back?

Does sitting for long periods of time create pain in your back? Do you feel stiff or sore when you get up? Does your back feel tight? How about tension in your neck and shoulders?

as it's a well-known fact that sitting down is hard on our backs. But it's hard to avoid it when most of us sit all day in front of our computers both at work and at home.
The following tips will help you move a bit more as well as find ways to sit more comfortably. Choose at least one of them to try on a daily basis if you want to experience some relief in your back pain.

1. Take short breaks. Set an alarm on your computer, PDA, etc. to go on a break every 30 minutes. Take at least 10 minutes to stand, stretch, and/or walk.

2. Stand while you work. What tasks could you do while standing? Some ideas: talking on the phone, reading your mail, or working on the computer. Choose just one on your list and make a new rule that you’ll only do it while standing.

3. Sit on an exercise ball or cushion. If you can get away with it, try sitting on an exercise ball for a few minutes several times throughout the day. You can roll around on it while sitting to help stretch the back and you’ll be forced to avoid slumping to stay on the ball.

In addition to sitting all day, most of us are guilty of bad posture, which is another big contributor to back pain.

If you’re like me, you start your day with good posture but gradually end up slumping, sprawling or hunching when your body gets tired.
Monitoring posture can be a lot of work, but try to remain conscious of your posture and avoid slumping at all times to build a strong back.
At Chiropractor Reading, we teach our patients some of the best techniques that they can practice daily to ease back pain.

Four Remedies for Back Pain Relief

Do you know one thing that most people suffer from and doesn't even get checked out because they think it's minor?

It's one of the most agonizing annoyances you could ever experience an aching back.

No matter if you lie down, sit down, squat, bend over, the pain just won't go away!

According to the National Institutes of Health, back pain is the second most common neurological disorder in the United States -- only headache is more common.

Back pain has many causes, from muscle strain to more serious conditions such as a herniated disc, spinal stenosis, spondylosisthesis, osteoporosis, or a tumor.

So if you are suffering from chronic back pain, it’s important to seek medical attention before it gets out of control.

There are some simple medical remedies that relieve back pain no matter what is causing it.

1. Acupuncture
How does acupuncture work? According to traditional Chinese medicine, pain results from blocked energy along energy pathways of the body, which are unblocked when acupuncture needles are inserted along these invisible pathways.
A scientific explanation is that acupuncture releases natural pain-relieving opioids, sends signals that calm the sympathetic nervous system, and releases neurochemicals and hormones.
An acupuncture treatment generally costs between $60 and $120, is tax-deductible (it’s considered a medical expense), and is covered by some insurance plans.

2. Capsaicin Cream
Although you may not have heard of capsaicin (pronounced cap-SAY-sin) before, if you’ve ever felt a burn in your mouth after eating a chili pepper, you know exactly what capsaicin does.
Capsaicin is the active ingredient in chili peppers.
When it is applied to the skin, capsaicin has been found to deplete substance P–a neurochemical that transmits pain--causing an analgesic effect to ease pain.

3) Vitamin D
Chronic muscle pain can be a symptom of vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin D is found in fish with small bones, fortified milk and cereal, and exposure to sunlight. So if you're suffering from back pain, you may want to stock up on these foods and get some sun.

4) Music Therapy
Music therapy is a low-cost natural therapy that has been found to reduce the disability, anxiety, and depression associated with chronic pain.
A study evaluated the influence of music therapy in hospitalized patients with chronic back pain. Researchers randomized 65 patients to receive, on alternate months, physical therapy plus 4 music therapy sessions or physical therapy alone.
Music therapy significantly reduced disability, anxiety, and depression. Music had an immediate effect on reducing pain, although the results were not statistically significant.
If you are experiencing back pain, we can help you figure out what's causing it and provide you with some relief.

How do Chiropractors Treat Neck Pain?

Neck pain is one of the biggest reasons why thousands of people see chiropractors every day. But, it's also one of the reasons why many are still so afraid to see a chiropractor. Having someone handle and manipulate your neck can be a scary thing. But it's important to remember that chiropractors are professionals who not only have a lot of training behind them, but also lots of experience too. They know what they are doing, and are extremely effective at treating things like neck pain. But, if you're still hesitant, or just thinking about seeing a chiropractor and are interested in what they do, heres how chiropractors treat neck pain.

The treatment that a chiropractor will use for neck pain is called cervical manipulation. This treatment usually needs to be performed when spinal vertebrae in the neck have moved out of position, or are pushing on another vertebrae or a nerve. During the treatment a chiropractor will use a hands-on approach to gently twist the neck and push the affected vertebrae back into their proper spinal position. Cervical manipulation can also be very effective at treating muscles that commonly spasm.

In addition to any cervical manipulation technique that's necessary, chiropractors will also often teach their patients neck exercises that can both help the current injury as well as ward off any future injuries.

It's important to note that a chiropractor will not prescribe you any pain medication or neck pain, or even recommend that you use them. Chiropractors are doctors of natural and alternative medicine and so, they don't use prescription pain medication. What they will be able to do is give you tips such as how to use proper posture, and what to avoid in order to also avoid future neck pain.

How do Chiropractors treat back pain?

Everyone knows that chiropractors treat back pain. But just how exactly? This is the question that nay-sayers have always asked regarding chiropractic care. Having someone "tinkering" with your back does seem frightening at first because the back is such a critical part of just about everything that happens in your body. But it's important to remember that when chiropractors help back pain, they're re not "tinkering" with the back, they're treating it! This is how they do it.

The two main forms of treatment that chiropractors use to treat back pain are spinal manipulation and mobilization. Spinal manipulation, or manual manipulation as it's also called, involves using a quick arm thrust that is applied to any abnormal vertebrae in the spine. These vertebrae may be causing great pain because it's pinching a nerve, interfering with other vertebrae, or causing other damage.

Mobilization is a technique that takes a bit more time and is a gentler process, although it is also just as effective. With mobilization, chiropractors gently stretch and move muscles and joints, in the hopes that the patient will regain more mobilization in these areas. The theory behind treating back pain this way is that the less a patient uses the sore muscle or joint, the more quickly it's going to heal.

Of course, spinal manipulation and mobilization aren't the only techniques that chiropractors use to treat back pain. Things such as ultrasounds and traction; exercises to strengthen inactive or under-active muscles; pelvic stabilization, which places a small heel in the shoe to correct instability; and ergonomics to change a person's lifestyle either at home or work that may be hurting their back.

If you have back pain, there are many ways that a chiropractor can help. It's safe and effective, and will have you back on your feet again in no time at all which is more than can be said for any painkiller!

What is a chiropractor?

A chiropractor is a health care professional that treats back and neck pain, strains, joint problems, sprained muscles, osteoarthritis, slipped discs and other musculoskeletal conditions.

Whereas many people perceive chiropractors to simply be a type of therapist, a chiropractor is in fact a certified doctor and has to undergo rigorous training and years of examinations field of medicine called chiropractics in order to become a qualified Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.).

Chiropractic science was discovered by a Canadian born doctor by the name of Dr. Palmer. In 1895 he set the vertebra of a deaf patient's back into position and immediately thereafter the man's hearing happened to improve. This confirmed doctor Palmer's theory that if the spine is in correct alignment then the nerve functions of the entire body work properly and harmoniosly with the end result being that the body will be free of disease. This was the beginning of Chiropractic science and it is mostly because of Dr. Palmer's tireless and dedicated work in the research and practice of chiropractic that the science grew to become an important advancement in medical science and healing therapy.

One of the main things that sets the Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) apart from a conventional doctor (MD) is that they do not use drugs nor surgery to treat their patients. Despite this fact, the title doctor is highly appropriate because the required knowledge of the human physical structure and musculoskeletal system is intense and it plays a more vital role in the fundamental well being and health of human beings than could probably be described in any short discourse or explanation of the field of practice.

Many chronic back pain sufferers resort to seek out the services of a chiropractor after years of pain, drug and radiation therapy and sometimes surgery because they have either lost faith in traditional medicine or reached a point where they realise that a cure lies in the treatment of the root cause of the ailment rather that a treatment of the effects from the ailment.

Often times the patient will be relieved very early on in the chiropractic treatment process both from a physical pain perspective as well as a substantial improvement to finances as a result of the natural remedial processes and lack of need for hospitalisation.
When a patient has undergone months or years of conventional medical treatment of ailments that are spine related and then has finally come to embrace the opportunity presented by chiropractic healing, they usually report that they wish they had taken the more natural chiropractic route much sooner or even immediately. Having said that, sometimes patients that have been admitted to a hospital as a result of injury are simply not aware of the relevance of chiropractic and the access that they have to it. For those fortunate enough to either have enough knowledge or intuition to ask about alternatives or in circumstances that an attending medical doctor is well aware of the relevant benefits then the early application of chiropractic can make an enormous difference to the patient's healing process and recovery.
Some of the most common causes of back pain and spinal misalignemt are occupation, poor posture, exertions, injuries, age and just plain old exhaustion. Although chiropractic treatment is usually indentified with spinal problems and disorders, it is also extremely effective in the relief of persistant head aches and chronic migraine as well as neck problems, hearing, balance and many other conditions that a qualified Doctor of Chiropractic could help you to identify.
A fundamental principle of Chiropractic is that any nerve anomalies within the spinal cord will in due course have effect on the brain and as a result of this may have a correating effect on other parts of the body through the interconnectedness of the central nervous system.

Therefore, when the chiropractic doctor treats the patient through direct and specific manipluation of the spine to free it up from contortion and misalignement then the ensuing result is a freely flowing nervous system that supports overall bodily functions and general health and balance. Chiropractors are trained to skillfullty use their hands to give effect to the different manipulative chiropractic techniques. A chiropractor will also use the application of ice or heat to relieve the injury.

There is a general conception amongst doctors of chiropractic and its many beneficiaries of healing and restored health that chiropractic is the science of bodily balance through proper vertabraeic aligment and good back health.

If you or someone in your family is a sufferer of back pain, neck pain or chronic headaches or some kind of injury then you would be doing them a distinct service by referring them to this article and making an appointment with our clinic at [name of business] Chiropractors for a consultation to see one of our highly trained and very friendly and supportive doctors who will have you on the road to better health and freedom from pain and immobility in the shortest possible time.

What makes a good chiropractor?

Firstly, lets take a look at what such a question as to what makes a good chiropractor ?tends to imply, which is to say that there must be both good and bad practitioners.

To be honest, I don't know that to be true statement about this profession because for some reason this seems to be one sector of the healing profession which seems to attract practitioners that are very much focused on ethics and sincere service to those that come to Chiropractic doctors seeking help and relief.

Having said that I suppose that as long as there is a common notion that there is good and bad existent within every trade or profession then a certain amount of diligence is appropriate even if it simply makes you feel better at the end of the process. It would have to be said that with something as delicate and critically important as good spinal health that you do need to be certain that you're in good hands. In the greater majority of circumstances this would be the case the most chiropractors but the peace of mind of knowing that you are in the best of care and under the specialist treatment of an astute and caring professional can be the one thing that makes yo relax into to treatment and as a result of this the healing is usually a lot more effective and in many cases can put you onto a quicker course of recovry because of it.

It may be more appropraite to define a goodchiropractor as one that personally suits you the best. At [name of business] chiropractors we strive to match you with a chiropractor that you can be both comfortable with and also one who can empathise with you and communicate clearly and talk directly into your problem and focus on the appropriate remedial therapy and solution to your ailment or injury.

A good chiropractor will be one who takes a holistic (totally natural) approach to your healing and will be able to provide you with freer overall bodily movement and control as well as improving your states of relaxation and comfort. It's kind of a natural and obvious to make about a chiropractor because by nature that's exactly what they are trained to do,- to look for the areas in which there is obstruction and then work with patient to bring about a natural solution as efficiently as possible and with minimal pain or discomfort.

The science of chiropractic is by no means any kind of haphazzard therapy or accidental cure technique, it is a precise science of the manipulation of the spine so that the patient can rely upon having a healthy and strong back where the entire vertibrae is in proper alignment. Many people don’t realise the importance of this simple fact until they are rendered with some phsyical condition that affects them and they in due course discover that the issue is total back related and that with proper treatment and manipulation of the spine that the healing will start to take place.

A good chiropractor of course will have undergone proper training and have a deep understanding of the principles and application of chiropractic. It's actually hard to imagine the extent of training and knowledge and discipline that goes into the making of a fully qualified doctor of Chiropractic but once you personally experience the support and insight of such a professional then you'll begin to understand what a critically important contribution that chiropractors make to the medical and healing profession.

One thing that you will notice with a good chiropractic doctor is his or her ability to listen and to ask questions. Mostly they will discuss their diagnosis with you thoroughly and will let you know what they are doing during certain procedures so that you are working with them rather than against a process that you don't understand. This is very much a valued quality that we focus on at [nameof business] Chiropractors because we know from experience how much value our patients place upon this kind of treatment.

Many people seek out chiropractic attention as an alternative to the more invasive option of surgery, or perhaps because they have a consistant painful condition which may have arisen through stress or physical injury. Whether this presents as a chronic low-back pain, neck pain, headaches or other conditions such as fibromyalgia a good chiropractor will be adept at recogising the signs and diagnosing the problem and the remedial treatment.

A good chiropractor looks at his or her role not just as a back cracker but as a holistic doctor that possesses knowledge that is suitibale for many diseases and conditions because if there is a spinal misalignment the skilled chiropractor knows that a proper course of remedial therapy can do wonders to help the body's overal healing ability.

At [name of business] chiropractors we believe that we are very good practitioners of chiropractic but of course we're a little biased even if it is for very good reason. OK,.. so by now you know what a chiropractor is, what about being able to choose one that will be right for you?
Choosing a suitable chiropractor in the Reading Area is somewhat like choosing a doctor in that you need to be able to communicate with them and also know that they care about you and your health and that they will always act in your best interests and apply empathy to understand your problem and the attendant pain and discomfort that you are going through.
In fact, the choosing of your chiropractor is probably even more important that choosing a regular MD or GP due to the fact that you may need to set up a regular course of therapy.
Communication and empathy skills would probably rate high on the list of prerequisites because if for some reason you don't feel you're able to connect with your chiropractor then that in itself could be a major obstacle to the effectiveness of any treatments. So, looking for a professional that has a caring disposition and one that shows keen interest in you and your needs is one that will probably be able to gain your trust and work with you the best.
A good suggestion would be to do a little research into your condition and to also ask around as to who comes highly recommended. You can get such information from people you know or under a referral from a doctor that you know and trust.
You'd actually be well advised to also incorporate an Internet search as an integral part of your research as nowadays there is an enormous amount of information about local business and professional services including chiropractic on the Internet.
When used properly, the Internet can be an excellent tool for doing most of your research which of course you'll need to conclude with a few phone calls in the final stages of the process.

Some of the things to look for when researching a chiropractor on the Internet would probably include the following:

1. Does the chiropractor have a website, and if so how professional looking is it? If the site looks shabby or has virually no information or it is clearly out of date then this would not be a positive sign. You can also find out how long the website has been in existence by performing a whois search (you can Google for that). Such a search will show thedetails of the registrar of the domain and the first date of registration. You should also be able to see from their website as to qualifications, hours of business, parking facilities, health care rebates etc.
2. You can also Google their name for reviews and see if any bad reports come up. If they have any kind of history of patient disatisfaction that information will show up. A reputable chiropractic clinic these days will spend time ensuring that their reputation and patient relations is maintained at its best and so if you find a trail of undefended adverse remarks then that might cause for caution or further investigation. To be more realistic though, it's more likely that you'll find positive comments and even some diverse perspectives that can reflect a chiropractic practitioner's personal approach to treatments and that may be such that it meets perfectly with your own philosphies and therefore could indicate a very good prospective fit between you and the chiropractor.

Once you've done your initial research on the Internet you can then make a phone call through to them just to verify further. Whatever comes out of your Internet reseacrh can then be balanced against any local knowledge you may have or recommendations received and then finally you'll probably end up with a shortlist of say 4 or 5 chiropractors in your area that you can seriously consider.
From your shortlist of chiropractors or clinics then you should make an appointment at which your chiropractor will make a diagnosis of your condition (you can investigate the other chiropractors on you shortlist for their diagnoses,.. but more on that in the paragraphs following).
During this first consultation you'll probably get a pretty good sense of whether the chiropractor is a good fit with you and you'll be able to assess his or her bedside manners and skills of attentiveness and empathy.
A good chiropractor will most likely ask you about details of your health background and also discuss hospitalisations or surgery that you may have had . Unless your chiropractor can form an understanding of your overall health and background then it will make it hard for the chiropractor to make an assessment as to the proper course of treatment.
Once the chirpractor has made a diagnosis and recommended a treatment for you then you can conduct your own personal research as to that disgnosis and treatment to acquire a deeper undertanding and also so that you can form an opinion as to the suitability of the recommendation that the doctor has made.
At this point you could set up an appointment with one or more of the other chiropractors on your shortlist to get a second opinion and to gauge the treatment recommendations and the suitability of the doctor to you personally. You shouldn not be afraid to discuss all your concerns during your initial consultations and most if not all chiropractors will respect your diligence in seeking out the chiropractic doctor most suited to you and your personal needs.

Hopefully this short article will help you locate a good chiropractor in Reading.
